A Sunday Morning in Greenwich
My in-laws arrived from South Africa on Saturday and yesterday morning we went to Greenwich. I usually take visitors straight to Greenwich Park which is one of my favourite places in London but wed already all gone there together in 2008 so this time we decided to go into Greenwich Town Centre. We started off by having breakfast at Weth[....]

The Streets of Novi Sad
I was chatting to a new Twitter friend this week and was explaining that as an expat, I am still very much in the honeymoon period with my relationship with London but as Id had two affairs with New York and Novi Sad, I did not know for how long I would be faithful. That is exactly how I feel! I might have only spent four very short days in Novi Sad but I fell in love and havent b[....]

Novi Sad: Fruka Gora
There is no airport in Novi Sad so I flew into Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport which is about 80 kilometres from Novi Sad. Majas friend Dado has a taxi and he met me at the airport. I immediately knew we were going to get along nicely when he was holding a Welcome Mandy sign. One of the first things he did was to laugh[....]

Top 5 Unique (and Free) Things To Do in London
By Yuli Linssen-Kaminitz London is one of the most vibrant cities in Europe there is an unlimited number of museums, more than 100 theatres, the famous Royal Family, numerous vintage shops and of course Kate Moss. Even though London attracts more than 27 million tourists a year, many people from outside Europe still find it an extremely expensive destination to visit.

Wordy Wednesday
This is the opposite of a Wordless Wednesday post! I am still desperately trying to catch up with my blogging and commenting and reading and seem to just be swimming (well, drowning actually). I keep thinking maybe work will get less busy or I will magically catch up with everything but it isnt happening. To be fair, I am a lot happier and more well-rested than I was this tim[....]

My Southwark (part 2)
This is the second half of my little walking tour around Southwark. The first part can be found here: My Southwark (part 1). We take a walk down Borough High Street this time. One thing I have learned through this little exercise is that I need to walk east along the river to explore Southwark around the mayor`s offic[....]

Weekend Snapshots ~ 6: A Balmy Sunday in the West End
I usually try to do these Weekend Snapshots posts on the actual weekend but I wanted to write up my review of the play that we saw last Sunday first. Some of you might have noticed that posting the review didnt go too well and I had to delete and repost it more than once on Sunday and Tuesday. Sorry, I was just having a momentary case of the blogging blues!! The 7/2/2010 10:51:44 PM

My Southwark (part 1)
Southwark is one of the most understated and unknown areas in London but it is steeped in history and full of beautiful and interesting places to visit. You can reach Southwark by catching the train or tube to London Bridge Station and there is enough to keep you occupied for a whole day. There is certainly no shortage of interesting things to do but I would suggest the following wa[....]
